Pinyin is the gateway to first grade languages. This 100-question pinyin exercise combines consonants, rhyming vowels, overall reading syllables, and reading and writing pinyin. Children practice one page a day, and the pinyin passes quickly.
The biggest challenge in the first semester of the first grade is pinyin: 23 consonants, 24 vowels, 16 syllables as a whole, and can spell, write, and distinguish. Many children are stuck on “b and d are indistinguishable” and “an and ang are not spelled correctly”.
The Three Focuses of Pinyin Learning
- The vowel vowel should be read correctly: b/d, p/q, n/l are high-frequency confusion points, which are distinguished with the help of smooth mouth (“right lower half circle b b b, left lower half circle d d d”);
- Spelling rules to remember: two spellings, three spellings, the whole reading can not be spelled;
- Writing should be standardized: four lines and three lattices should be correct, j accounts for three lattices, and t accounts for two lattices.
Practice usage
This 100 questions covers the high-frequency pinyin of the first grade book. 10 questions are done every day and the answers are compared. The misspelled syllables are copied into the wrong question book, and the next day, the wrong question is reviewed and then practiced again. Focus on the wrong questions for the week over the weekend.
Parent Coaching Tips
Listen and read more: Get up in the morning to listen to phonetic children’s songs, and take your children to read phonetic cards before going to bed at night. Note: Do not laugh at children’s misspellings. Phonetic confusion is a normal process. It is natural to practice more.
